Home Event For Ryan Shehan This Weekend As Austinite Takes On The Circuit of The Americas

Newly announced Toyota Racing Series and F4 United States Championship Powered by Honda competitor Ryan Shehan is set to compete in his home event this weekend. Taking on the Circuit of the Americas (COTA), the same track and layout that the Formula One World Championship drivers battled on last weekend, the 17-year-old is looking to put his #66 Crosslink Kiwi Motorsport entry in the winner’s circle on home turf.

“We have managed to score a couple of race wins this season, and we are coming off a great weekend of racing at VIR (Virginia International Raceway),” explained Shehan. “I love COTA, and I am prepared to battle to the end and see if we can close the season with a few more race wins.”

Racing out of the Crosslink Kiwi Motorsport tent, Shehan sits fourth in the Driver Championship with a triple header race weekend on the horizon. With an outside shot at the title, Shehan has nothing to lose in Texas.

Shehan added, “We’re going into the weekend only looking forward; we really want to get into the top-three and even go for the championship. My goal is always to win so I’ll be pushing as hard as I can to get some wins for the team and me, especially since it’s a home race for me, I want a result.”

While the Texan is in the battle for the championship, he is also a major player in the quest for Crosslink Kiwi Motorsport to earn another Team Championship as well.

“If I am unable to top the driver championship standings, I hope that my efforts this season and at COTA can help Crosslink Kiwi Motorsport earn the team title,” continued Shehan. “They deserve it more than any other team I know, and I will look to bring them as many points as possible.”

With family, friends, supporters, and partners anticipated trackside this weekend, Shehan will begin his weekend on Wednesday with a pair of practice sessions and qualifying. Thursday will be the home of the first two races of the finale weekend while Friday will provide one more opportunity for wheel-to-wheel combat. Stay tuned to the Ryan Shehan Racing social media pages for news, information, photos, and results from the event weekend.

Ryan Shehan Claims His First F4 United States Championship Win at New Jersey Motorsports Park

Ryan Shehan Claims His First F4 United States Championship Win at New Jersey Motorsports Park

A win and two podium results catapult the young driver forward in the race for the championship

Crosslink Kiwi Motorsport sophomore Ryan Shehan scored his first F4 United States Championship Powered by Honda win this past weekend in the first race of a triple header at New Jersey Motorsports Park (NJMP). The young driver has been a breakout star this season claiming podium after podium and those following him have been waiting with bated breath for this moment.

Shehan’s first F4 career win comes from a penalty assessed to the winner of race one, moving Shehan into the top position on the results sheets. After crossing the line .038 seconds behind in second place, a post-race call by officials relegated the initial winner down to sixth, and Shehan to the top step of the podium.

“It feels really good. Getting that first win is a big deal and gives you a lot of momentum throughout the rest of the season,” explained Shehan, “It has been something that we have been fighting for all season long. With the first win now out of the way, I am hungrier for more and can hopefully close the gap in the points championship.”

With two races on the schedule for Sunday, Shehan couldn’t let his first win excitement get the better of him. His had to be laser focused as tough competition fought in his rearview mirrors. Starting sixth, Shehan battled to a third-place result in race two on Sunday morning and then added a second-place finish in race three for a triple podium weekend. Standing on all three steps of the podium over the course of three races, the young Texan proved nothing could rattle him and that he is a force to be reckoned with as the series has two event weekends remaining to determine a champion.

Motivated to a victory, two new partners joined Shehan on track this weekend via the Pathfinder Program. Members Michael and Stephanie Johnson and Marc and Kristen King were represented on each side of Shehan’s car by their names and a Pathfinder logo as they helped fund him to victory at New Jersey Motorsports Park.

Shehan added, “It was the first weekend for two of our new Pathfinders, and to represent them on the top step of the podium with a win, and three podium results in total in their first weekend is such an accomplishment. This weekend is proof that hard work both on and off the track does pay off!”

Ryan Shehan and Crosslink Kiwi Motorsports will be competing next at VIRginia International Raceway after a two-month break for the Andy Scriven Memorial at the Mission Foods VIR SpeedTour Thursday, October 6th through Sunday, October 9th in the second to last event of the F4 United States Championship Powered by Honda 2022 season.

Ryan Shehan Adds Keller Williams President to Pathfinder Program

Ryan Shehan Adds Keller Williams President to Pathfinder Program

With three podium results in his sophomore season of the F4 United States Championship Powered by Honda, Austinite Ryan Shehan is working hard on the business side of his motorsports program. With a 501(c)(3) charity in place under the title Shehan Strong, unique partner programs have also been established to help pave the way for the future. This week, Shehan is pleased to welcome Marc King, president of Keller Williams (KW), the world’s largest real estate franchise by agent count, along with his wife Kristen King together as a Pathfinder to their growing motorsports effort.

“First off, I can’t thank Marc and Kristen enough for coming on board to support our racing efforts,” expressed Shehan. “We’re working hard both on and off the track, and the Kings’ financial support brings us closer to our goals.”

“Supporting our youth is of utmost importance,” added King. “The fact that Ryan is so focused on helping our communities was the only reason we needed to support his racing program. I look forward to cheering him on at upcoming events and hopefully helping him achieve his first F4 win.”

King is intent on disrupting the traditional approach to real estate – focused on delivering and innovating on world-class customer experiences at scale, while keeping the agent at the center of the real estate experience. Previously, he served as the director of growth for KW. With a real estate career spanning more than 20 years, King has also served as a real estate coach, a master trainer, and has held a multitude of senior leadership positions, from the market center to the regional level at KW.

Shehan added, “The approach that Marc has for the future of KW is something that lines up well with our program. While Marc’s company looks to help you sell your house fast, I look to be fast on the track and on the top step of the podium.”

Next up for Ryan Shehan will be a trip to the New Jersey Motorsports Park for rounds 10 through 12 of the F4 United States Championship Powered by Honda over the July 29-31 weekend.

Two Podiums for Ryan Shehan at The Mid-Ohio Sports Car Course

Two Podiums for Ryan Shehan at The Mid-Ohio Sports Car Course

Returning to the seat of his #66 Crosslink Kiwi Motorsport machine this past weekend, Texan Ryan Shehan was back on the podium. Taking on the F4 United States Championship Powered by Honda, Shehan earned two podium results at the 2.4-mile, 15-turn legendary facility, and completed his career best weekend in open wheel racing.

After the Promoters Test Day on Thursday and the one and only official practice on Friday morning, it was straight into qualifying and Shehan earned his best qualifying result of the season. Qualifying fourth and lining up on the outside of row two for the first wheel-to-wheel action of the weekend, it would be all eyes on race one Saturday as the Austinite would look to fight for the win.

Ryan Shehan Racing“I am excited to have my best starting position ever in F4,” explained Shehan. “I have one podium earlier this year, and the goal is to double that total up tomorrow during the first wheel-to-wheel action on the weekend.”

Lining up fourth, the lights would go out and it was off to the races for Shehan. An early race caution slowed the pace briefly but when the race resumed a few laps later, Shehan found himself in second, directly behind his Crosslink Kiwi Motorsport teammate Bryson Morris. Holding station and exchanging fast lap after fast lap, a late race caution would bunch the field back up for one final restart. Unfortunately, that restart would not come and Shehan crossed the line in the second position and earned his career best F4 United States Championship Powered by Honda result.

With fast laps from race one setting the grid for race two, Shehan started the second race of the weekend from the outside of the front row. Looking to climb one position further up the podium from the day prior, the driver of the #66 entry fell to third on the start but immediately moved back to second by the time he exited turn two. Making several attempts to pass the leader, minor contact was made on lap three causing Shehan’s right rear tire to puncture forcing him to the pits. With lap times from race two setting the grid for race three, it was important to get back on track to go for the quickest lap possible. Responding to the quick action of his team, Shehan was able to clock the fourth quickest time and finish P19.  Most importantly, he would start the third and final race of the weekend from the outside of row two and have another chance to stand atop the podium.

Moving into the third position early in race three, it looked as if Shehan would have a shot at the win before contact broke his front wing. With a severely damaged wing that effected both straight line speed and downforce, Shehan had his hands full to try and keep the rest of the field behind him. With all parts intact yet not operating to the optimal performance level, Ryan had a gutsy drive to end his third and final race of the weekend on the podium.

Shehan added, “I could feel something was wrong with the car and thought that the pace would start to drop off or we’d even have to retire.  A lap later, the wing was still on, and I was able to drive around the problem. I adjusted my driving to make the car work and just thought to myself that I owed my team another good result. In the end it turned out well and that is two podiums on the weekend.”
