Austinite prepared for first visit to Virginia International Raceway
September 21, 2021 – Looking forward to his home event at the Circuit of the Americas in just over a month, Team Crosslink’s Ryan Shehan will head east for rounds 13 through 15 of the F4 United States Championship Powered by Honda. Set to take on the Virginia International Raceway (VIR) this weekend, Shehan is coming off a double point scoring event in Minnesota and will look to carry that momentum onwards through the rest of the season.
“It has been a season of learning, and I am continuing to improve,” explained Ryan Shehan. “The learning is both on the track as well as off the track. I am continuing to develop as a driver, but also learn and engage in the business side of motorsports. We have a good bit of momentum on both and can’t wait to have some more news for you soon.”
Like all the tracks so far in the 2021 F4 United States Championship Powered by Honda, Shehan will see VIR for the first time on the race weekend. Utilizing the testing and practice sessions to fine tune the handling of his Team Crosslink prepared Ligier JSF4, the young Texan will have to learn the fast and challenging layout quickly.
Shehan added, “We have completed some testing at INDE and I have been on the sim a lot trying to keep myself sharp before heading to VIR. Thankfully I have been able to view videos and study some data, so I feel better prepared.”
Ryan Shehan will hit the track on Thursday for test sessions, Friday for official practice and qualifying, and then the first wheel-to-wheel action takes place on Saturday. With a triple header race weekend, Shehan and his #66 Team Crosslink entry will have three opportunities to climb to the top step of the podium.
